There was a session on “Instructional Practice using Google Apps’ which featured how to use google apps and technology to improve and support student achievement in our schools. After this, the next workshop highlighted the 21st Century Academic Library and the Project Librarian for intellectual engagement and Institutional Repository at St Norbert College had an interactive interchange with my team on how educators in Nigeria can successfully implement a realignment process for our academic libraries to better serve students in the 21st century. Shortly after this very beneficial training, we proceeded to Appleton East High School where we were warmly received by the Principals of the school and their students. There were classroom observations and opportunities to interact with their friendly students after which the Coordinator of Special Education shared insights into Intellectual Disabilities and Autism in students and Instructional practices in the Appleton Area School District(AASD).
What an in-depth and thorough programme it has been so far. QAARDAN has ensured that our team of educators from Nigeria have been exposed to a comprehensive and all inclusive training program highlighting best practices in Special Education in the United States…There’s hope for children with special educational needs.
