TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS AND PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL (TEPA) WORKSHOP
TEPA is a bi-annual enrichment workshop for educationalists organised by QAARDAN held in the UK, USA, Canada and Nigeria. The workshop is designed specifically for Principals, Heads of Schools, School Administrators, Supervisors and Teachers. TEPA offers a variety of activities aimed at improving teaching methods in individual teachers and ultimately the overall quality of education in Nigerian schools. It sets to create Nigerian educationists with a global outlook by providing participants with a competitive edge through exposure to the prevailing curriculum and educational system in the country of visit.
The workshop is broken down into two sections:
- The theoretical perspectives which will be facilitated by seasoned lecturers and the interactive sessions which involves discussions on school leadership, performance appraisal, teaching methodologies, school inspection and performance indicators.
- Visits to foreign schools to get a firsthand experience on how teaching and learning takes place in the classrooms of developed countries. It also provides networking opportunity for the participants thereby establishing a network of Nigerian teachers for sustainable professional development.
